About K.J. Noble

My path to becoming an author wasn't exactly a straight line. For a long time, it looked like my future was in medicine. I was a pre-med student, a college baseball player, and on a track that was safe, sensible, and supported by my family. But a creative spark I’d had since middle school never quite went out. I’d start stories, but never finish them—I hadn't yet learned how to wrangle a big idea into a complete narrative.
That all changed in December 2019. One night, a concept hit me so hard it felt like a jolt to my soul: a species that looked human but possessed an awareness beyond our comprehension. They became the Prolithians, and the world of Providence was born. That idea consumed me. I spent the next few years obsessed—writing notes until 5 AM, procrastinating on lab reports, and slowly realizing that this story felt more like my purpose than anything else.
In the summer of 2020, I made the call. I was on a fishing trip when I decided to trade the stability of medicine for the uncertainty of being a full-time author. I had no deal, no agent, and no guarantee of success—just a gut feeling and a quote from Derrick Rose echoing in my head: "Why not me?"
This journey has been a masterclass in discipline and finding a rhythm that works. It's about showing up to the page even when life gets in the way, whether that’s during grad school or after a full-time job. This website is an extension of that journey. It’s a place to share not just the finished product, but the messy, challenging, and exhilarating process of bringing a world to life.
Thanks for being here. I'm excited to share it all with you.
